Information and communications technology are crucial tools in any business. Qualified ICT professionals are always in high demand. From ICT support technicians and test engineers, to business and systems analysts, jobs in this industry are experiencing strong growth, with as many as 70,000 new positions predicted in the next five years. ePolytechnic’s Bachelor of Information Technology is designed to provide high-level skills with a business focus, ensuring you’re up-to-date with the latest industry-relevant skills.

With instruction from industry experts, you’ll analyse, design, implement and manage complex information systems including Enterprise Resource Planning and Business Intelligence and Software Development. You’ll also create software for a wide range of applications. ePolytechnic students benefit from our partnership with multinational analytics software developer, SAS Institute Inc, as Bachelor of Information Technology students also have the opportunity to receive the globally recognised “Information Technology Analytics qualification. This is a globally recognised professional industry certification for eligible students on successful completion of specific units.

ePolytechnic’s Bachelor of Information Technology students will graduate with in-demand skills and the knowledge to meet the ICT needs of local and multinational organisations as well as the broader business community. Your skill set will allow you to shape your career based on your interests, from systems administrator to software developer.

The course contains 24 units of which 14 are core units (mandatory), 6 are specialisations/majors and 4 are electives. Core units are offered at both Preston campus and Prahran campus, however the offerings for each semester alternate between Preston campus and Prahran campus.

You may choose electives from the Bachelor of Information Technology which are not part of your major. For example, if your major is Network Development, you can choose electives from either Software Development or Business Information Systems. Alternatively, you can choose electives from any other higher education course offered at ePolytechnic.
